Academy Family,
The school year is off to an excellent start! All academy classes are working so hard and are so focused. It's amazing to think back and see all the progress we've made in just one year. The future is so bright and we are thrilled to have a front row seat to all the growth. Below is a quick synopsis of August tournaments, our very own MMC tournament (the coach's are competing in it, so don't miss it!), and a few graduations!!
August showcased all the fruit from a very tough summer of the tennis court.
At the "Back-to-school Championships" in Opelika, MMTA took home the Girl's 10's Championship (Emme Layne Basquin) and Runner-Up (Ellie Anne Jackson), the Girls 14's Championship (Reagan Saxon), the Boys 12's 3rd place (Holtz Basquin), Boys 16's 3rd place (Harrison Tole) and Consolation Championship (Connor Mullins).
There was also a level 5 event in Auburn this past Month for some of the states best 12's & 14's players. Only one of our students based on USTA ranking, Reagan Saxon, qualified for entry, but in need of two additional boys 12's players, Holtz Basquin and Asher Beddingfield were also admitted as wildcards. MMTA showed up! The 3 players accounted for 7 overall wins. Beddingfield's final victory secured his team's first place finish in the 12U division, and Saxon's team placed second in the 14's.
We also have three graduations this month! Help us in congratulating, Pax Littlepage, Gary Glazier, and Whit Blomeyer moving from the 100 Academy Class to the 200 Academy Class!

The Yella' Hamma' Slamma' at Moore's Mill Club is a JUNIOR & PRO-AM money event hosted September 23rd - 25th. The event is both singles and doubles. Please enter as soon as you can! Early registrations greatly help with player pull. The more players we have entered the better flighted and more competitive each draw will be. All of the MMTA coaches will be competing as well in the PRO-AM divisions, its sure to be a great time! We look forward to seeing everyone compete! LESSONS
No one became great at anything doing it merely twice a week. In an effort to provide another opportunity for students to get on the court, we are again offering Group Private Lessons (GPLs) this fall.
100 Group Private Lesson (100’s only) Mondays from 4:00-5:00pm
200 Group Private Lesson (200’s only) Wednesdays 4:30-5:30pm (followed by match play)
300 Group Private Lesson (300’s only) Mondays from 4:30-5:30pm (followed by match play)
Depending upon demand and coach availability, we may add additional GPL’s to the schedule. You can also facilitate your own GPL; we do ask that each GPL have a minimum of 4 participates.
