ABOUT

HOOASA is the premier high-performance junior tennis development program in East Alabama, offering athletes an average of over ten structured training hours per week across three thoughtfully designed pathways. In addition to comprehensive on-court technical and tactical instruction, the program integrates tennis-specific strength and conditioning sessions, as well as weekly seminars focused on mental resilience and competitive mindset development. This well-rounded approach creates a performance framework rarely seen at the regional level.

To meet the varying academic needs of its athletes, HOOASA is organized into three distinct tracks. Two part-time formats are designed for players attending traditional school settings, while a full-time option is available for those pursuing flexible or alternative educational arrangements.

HOOASA Futures (HF) serves as the program’s entry-level high-performance track, offering six on-court hours per week and preparing players for success at USTA Level 7 and 6 tournaments. HOOASA Challengers provides ten on-court hours per week and is geared toward athletes competing at USTA Level 5 and 4 events. The most intensive option, HOOASA Full-Time, includes sixteen weekly court hours—six of which take place in private or semi-private settings—and is designed to prepare players for success at USTA Levels 3, 2, and 1, as well as, competition on the ITF junior circuit.

With its structured programming and supportive environment, HOOASA equips dedicated junior players with the tools, training, and guidance they need to pursue excellence at every stage of their tennis journey.

02 COMMITMENT

HOOASA players have the highest level of commitment to their craft. They attend year round, are extremely active on the junior circuit, and govern themselves with a high degree of professionalism.

The Futures Class has a tournament requirement of eight tournaments annually

&

The Challengers Class has a tournament demand of 12 tournaments annually (5 of which must be Level 5 or lower events). If a Challenger enters a Level 5 (or lower) event but is not selected for the draw—and is within the top 15 on the alternate list—that event will count toward the player's Level 5 tournament requirements; however, the player must earn at least three Level 6 wins before another non-selection may be counted again toward their Level 5 quota. No more than two non-selections may be applied toward the five required Level 5 (or lower) events. To maintain Challenger Class status, the player must physically participate in at least three Level 5 (or lower) events and meet the minimum of 12 total annual tournaments. Failure to do so, barring exceptional circumstances, may result in reassignment to the Futures Class.

03 MINDSET

HOOASA players are different. Champions are different. They operate on both the practice court and the tournament court with a completely different mindset. HOOASA players are not expected to have mastered the forthcoming mindsets, but should be someone who is consistently making efforts to embrace them. These are:

They recognize failure as an opportunity to learn from and not something to fear.

They do not flee from difficult moments, but embrace obstacles.

They give their best regardless of how they feel.

They do not merely receive critical feedback, but seek it out.

They learn from the success of others.
