ABOUT
HOOASA is the most comprehensive high performance training program in east Alabama, boasting 9+ weekly court hours, dedicated strength and conditioning sessions designed specifically for junior players, and mental strength development elements throughout. The program houses two formats: a part-time program for those players attending a traditional school setting and a full-time program for those players who have adopted a flexible schooling option.
Unlike MMTA's academy classes, HOOASA is not level-based, but passion based. The ideal HOOASA player is someone who is currently competitive on the junior circuit, but seeks to compete at a much higher level and long term has a strong desire to play collegiate and/or professional tennis.
HOOASA was born from a document presented to the players and parents of MMTA entitled "The Plan." This document presented several key principles relevant for junior players, general performance outcomes for hours on court, but above all it illuminated the commitment level it takes to play collegiate tennis, a goal of many MMTA's players. The overwhelming response from the document's distribution was, "how do I get more training hours?" The solution, HOOASA.
You can view the "The Plan" document below.

COMMITMENT
HOOASA players have the highest level of commitment to their craft. They are not dual sport athletes. They attend year round as many sessions as possible, and are extremely active on the junior circuit competing in a minimum of twelve tournaments annually, five of which are level 5 or lower events in order to illicit the mirror principle on a continuous basis (see “the plan”).
03
MINDSET
HOOASA players are different. Champions are different. They operate on both the practice court and the tournament court with a completely different mindset. HOOASA players are not expected to have mastered the forthcoming mindsets just yet, but should be someone who is consistently making efforts to embrace them. These are:
They recognize failure as an opportunity to learn from and not something to fear.
They do not flee from difficult moments, but embrace obstacles.
They give their best regardless of how they feel.
They do not merely receive critical feedback, but seek it out.
They learn from the success of others.
